Mundubbera and Mundubbera Shire
Mundubbera, a rural town, is on the Burnett River in the central Burnett region, 140 km west of Maryborough and 270 km north-west of central Brisbane. It was named after the Mundubbera pastoral run (1848), and the name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal expression describing step marks on trees.
