Tamborine Mountain

The Tamborine district is a hilly plateau that is a northern spur of the McPherson Range. Much of it is preserved as national park and it forms part of the 'scenic rim' of the Gold Coast. The plateau is approximately 10 km from north to south, and about half that from east to west. The villages at the north of the plateau are Eagle Heights and North Tamborine. Mount Tamborine is a locality to the south, 20 km due west of Southport. All three localities come under the general place name of Tamborine Mountain.
