Munruben is a rural/residential suburb immediately east of Greenbank and south of Park Ridge. It was named after a leasehold grazing property occupied by William Norris, c1840-60. The property was about 16,000 acres, extending from Oxley Creek, Greenbank, to the Logan River, just beyond Munruben's eastern boundary.

Formally named in 1991, Munruben was in Beaudesert Shire until 2008, when it was transferred to Logan City.

William Norris is further remembered by Norris Creek which rises in Greenbank and gathers several tributaries in Munruben before joining the Logan River. Another stream passes through the north of Munruben, and is bordered by the Park Ridge environmental park and Jerry's Downfall Reserve.
