Mount Low is a recent residential district between Bushland Beach and Deeragun, 16 km west of central Townsville. The area was named and gazetted in 1911.
Mount Low's main internal-access route is Mount Low Parkway, running northwards from the Bruce Highway. In 2008 the Townsville Regional Council approved a 1300-lot housing development plan by the Maidment Development Group, estimated to have a ten year completion period.

Mount Low relies on neighbouring suburbs for schools and shopping. Across the Bruce Highway in Deeragun there are the Northern Beaches High School (1997) and a nearby highway shopping centre. In neighbouring Burdell there is the Bohlevale primary school (1911) and an adjacent site reserved for a regional shopping centre. Northwards, in Bushland Beach, there are the Mount Low tavern and a local shopping centre.
