The Leap Hotel Motel, via Mackay, (During years 1866-1867 particularly bad frontier conflict, a local Aboriginal woman with a baby in her arm threw herself off Mt Mandarana, she died but the baby survived. Since then, known as The Leap)

The modern coal terminal at Hay Point built in 1970, 18 kilometres south of Mackay is now the largest export coal complex in the world. Coal is mined in the Bowen Basin to the south-west and exported around the world through Hay Point

The Rotary Tipper unloads two 56 tonne wagon loads of coal every 120 seconds. The coal trains consist of 148 wagons and are hauled by six 96 tonne locos, Hay Point
