Blacks Beach

Blacks Beach is a coastal locality 10 km north of central Mackay. The origin of its name is unrecorded.

The wide, sandy Blacks Beach is the longest northern beach (about 5 km) in the Mackay region, ending at tall cliffs at Dolphin Heads. The more developed, northern part of Blacks Beach includes the Blue Pacific Hotel and the Seawinds Holiday Park.

There is substantial residential development, mostly occupied by young families whose children can attend the State primary school in neighbouring Eimeo or travel further afield to Mackay.
