Camira, a residential suburb at the eastern end of the City of Ipswich, is 21 km south-west of central Brisbane. It adjoins the Greenbank Military Camp and Carole Park where there is an industrial estate.

A suburb of the 1970s, with a larger area than now, it was substantially developed within its present boundaries, but not beyond. Contemporary maps indicated that Camira spread south and west of its present area, taking in numerous tributaries of the Woogaroo Creek. Those areas, however, have been detached and developed as Springfield, Springfield Lakes and Augustine Heights.
