Sandstone Point

Sandstone Point, an urban area opposite Bribie Island, is positioned where Pumicestone Channel meets Deception Bay. It is 19 km east of Caboolture and 45 km north-east of central Brisbane.

The area's easternmost part is Toorbul Point, once an assembly place for members of the Ningy Ningy Aboriginal clan. Toorbul, or 'Turrbal', was first learned by Nundah missionaries who were guided there by local Aborigines in 1841, the word apparently being a reference to the bora ground south of Bestman Road. There is also a stone fish trap near the shore line.
